On November 5, 2026, Indonesia’s Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) officially launched IP Bridge (Intellectual Property Business Bridge), a digital platform connecting inventors and Patent Holders from universities with industry players and investors to accelerate the downstream development and commercialization of patented technologies in Indonesia.
Through this platform, businesses can explore inventions developed by Indonesian researchers that have the potential to be transformed into commercially valuable products and technologies, while directly pursuing opportunities for licensing partnerships.
Hundreds of Inventions Across Various Industry Sectors
According to information available on the IP Bridge platform, the catalog currently features:
- 217 registered and verified Patents.
- 79 inventions available for licensing, with Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) of 7–9.
- 77 partner universities and Intellectual Property Centers.
The inventions are categorized by industry sector, including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, energy, waste management, construction, trade, and various service industries.
This classification enables businesses to identify technologies relevant to their commercial needs, assess their technological readiness, and explore potential licensing or commercialization partnerships.
Creating Opportunities for Inventors and Industry Players
IP Bridge serves not only as a Patent catalog but also as a platform connecting technology owners with prospective users and commercial partners.
Universities, Intellectual Property Centers, and inventors can register to showcase their inventions to industry players. Meanwhile, businesses and investors can use the platform to identify opportunities for technology adoption, product development, and investment.
Launched at the Closing of Indonesia Patent Business Forum 2026
The launch of IP Bridge was one of the key highlights of the closing ceremony of the Indonesia Patent Business Forum (FBPI) 2026, held from November 3–5, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
Over the three-day event, the forum attracted 5,863 visitors and recorded the provision of 143 licensing services, 168 financing services, and 209 Patent valuation services.
IP Bridge is expected to build on the collaborations established during the forum, helping ensure that university research outcomes move beyond Patent registration toward practical industrial applications and economic value creation.
